What we publish:

Candid insights publishes analytical or educational articles that inform the sector’s work, including pieces focused on data, research findings, and their implications:

What we do not publish:

  • Opinion/commentary, calls to action, or content that is partisan or political
  • Press releases and news items
  • Interviews, profiles, book reviews, etc.
  • Annual reports
  • Submissions from content marketers
  • Content that has already been published on another platform

Our audience:

Our primary audience is nonprofit staff. Our readers also include foundation staff, philanthropy infrastructure organization staff, researchers/academics, and journalists.

Basic editorial guidelines:

  • Word count: approximately 750 words
  • Not a conventional op-ed with an appeal or advocacy/policy position, but rather an analytical or educational resource that informs the sector’s work, including articles focused on data, research findings, and their implications
  • In alignment with Candid’s values of being direct and accessible, written in reader-friendly, straightforward language that appeals not only to sector experts but to the broadest possible audience
  • No self-promotional content, but discussion of strategies and innovative approaches are welcome
