Defending the nonprofit sector

Two people looking at nonprofit data.

The social sector stands at a defining moment. With the rising tide of misinformation, funding cuts, and shifting policies, organizations need access to accurate, reliable data to safeguard the communities and causes they serve. Candid is supporting and defending the sector by providing data, knowledge, and insights to shed light on the vital role nonprofits play in communities across the United States.

Building trust with rapid response research

Candid provides timely data and insights on the potential impact of federal policies. Through Candid insights articles, we respond rapidly to new policy announcements, sharing our findings and analysis to provide data-driven information that supports the sector.

We offer public data dashboards on specific subjects like government funding and foundation giving by state to illuminate the crucial work of nonprofits. These dashboards provide a holistic landscape of the sector and allow deeper exploration of the data.

Nonprofit support

Alongside government funding cuts, nonprofits are facing increased public and government scrutiny. To help, Candid provides a variety of resources for free at over 1600 partner locations across the country. Through our Go for Gold initiative, we also offer smaller nonprofits free access to Candid search to prospect for foundation funding.

We host monthly special topic webinars, live and on-demand trainings, and peer learning groups to provide space and community for nonprofits affected by government funding cuts and policy changes.

Help Candid defend the nonprofit sector

This work is evolving in real time as we respond to ongoing shifts in funding and nonprofit needs. Thanks to the support of our generous funders, we will continue to use data to combat misinformation, help nonprofits through uncertainty, and build a stronger sector for future generations.
