Fundraising projects

Fundraising projects are designed to help fundraisers manage their fundraising workflow and stay on track. You can find and create new projects on your dashboards.  

Create a new project 

To create a new project, you need to provide a project name, project type, and your fundraising organization name or EIN. If you have an existing Candid nonprofit profile with up-to-date information, this step enables our AI engines to populate data from your profile, so you don’t have to start from scratch. 

Project summary 

Having essential information about your fundraising project in one place helps speed up the grant application process. Some parts of the project details will be auto populated from your nonprofit profile, but it’s important to make sure all details are complete. The information you provide on your project summary helps shape funder recommendations and personalize Letter of Intent drafts to your specific needs.  

Make sure to complete your project information such as: 

• Success criteria, objectives, and the fundraising amount in USD 

• Project activities and the program are optional but helpful for funders. 

• Contact details for this project so funders know who to reach out to.  

 

Add prospects to project 

In the Prospects tab, you will see the funders that you have added for this project. 

Here are two ways you can populate the prospect list on your project: 

1. Add funders directly from search results by clicking ‘Save’ and ‘Projects’ and save them to appropriate projects.  
2. Build a prospect list using our AI-powered funder recommendations. Go to ‘Recommendations’ and find a list of funders that Candid AI engine suggests for your project. This built-in tool looks at your profile data and your overall project objectives and goals to determine the best funders for you to approach. It also tells you the percentage of match rate based on if this funder has funded a similar project or cause area. You can save a funder to this project list by clicking ‘Save to prospects’. 

 

Generate a Letter of Intent 

Projects have a built-in LOI writer tool to help you generate drafts quickly and get outreach going. Any information you have provided in this fundraising project will be accounted for in your LOI drafts.

Easily generate an LOI by defining the LOI name, providing your prospective funder name or EIN, and the fundraising amount needed. Once you add a prospective funder, Candid AI can help estimate the appropriate amount to ask based on their previous giving history and your project needs. After you’ve provided sufficient information, click ‘Generate LOI’. You can further refine the results or download it as PDF or Docx.
