Compliance

You can quickly verify that an organization meets state and federal compliance requirements instantly on their Candid profile. While on their Candid profile, simply navigate to the Summary tab. You can find all compliance information on the right side. 

 

 

Here you can access compliance data with unlimited access to 6 federal and state sources, including California AB 488, to ensure the organizations you are interested in are in good legal standing.

Contribution tax deductible  

Allows you to check the latest date that organization was reviewed and approved for contribution tax deductible status.  

 

IRS BMF 501(c)(3) Public Charity  

Allows you to check the latest date that the organization was reviewed and approved as a public charity.  

 

Compliance alert  

This appears as a green notification in the compliance section of the profile and alerts you of one or more outstanding registration or missing compliance criteria for that organization. This notification only applies to applicable organizations.  

 

Compliance report  

The compliance report gives you additional details for each compliance verification source applicable, including the date, location, and EIN. This report also generates a timestamp of when you accessed the report in the top right-hand corner. Download the report to store for your own record keeping.
