That’s why we’ve revamped Candid’s learning site to provide you with a streamlined set of resources, all in one place. We’ve made it even easier to find free trainings, both live and on-demand, and get answers to the most common questions we get from nonprofits. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and resources you need to succeed, all in one convenient location. 

Here I’ll highlight some of the key features of Candid’s new learning site.  

More short-form video content 

We know you’re busy. So, we’ve introduced short-form content that provides quick, actionable tips. Whether you’re looking for best practices or brief tutorials, our short-form content delivers the information you need in a concise format. In the video library, you’ll find numerous videos lasting five minutes or less, and many of the on-demand courses can be completed in under 10 minutes. Some examples:

Sample documents and worksheets 

We’ve refreshed our collection of sample documents to make it easier for you to explore winning grant proposals, letters of inquiry, cover letters, and budgets.  

You’ll also find a new collection of templates and worksheets, including: 

• Assessing your fundraising strategies: Identify your strongest potential supporters and choose the right funding partners. 

• Revenue risk audit template: Evaluate your current funding sources, spot vulnerabilities, and identify opportunities to diversify. 

• Elevator pitch worksheet: Craft compelling talking points for introductory calls or in-person conversations with potential donors. 

Tip: Bring one of these worksheets to your next board meeting to help shape strategies for safeguarding revenue and practice making a compelling case for support.  

Consolidated help articles 

Our help articles are now more comprehensive, updated, and easier to navigate on Candid’s new learning site. Previously known as Knowledge Base articles, they address common fundraising and nonprofit questions. You’ll find detailed explanations, step-by-step guides, and solutions to common issues—all in one place. We streamlined our content, removing outdated material and consolidated related topics into more comprehensive guides. For example, check out “How do I write a grant proposal?” It covers a proposal’s key elements, guidance for writing a strong cover letter, and five tips for grantwriting success.  

Resources for start-up and early-stage nonprofits 

Starting a nonprofit can be challenging, but we’re here to help. We’ve created a dedicated page with resources specifically for start-up and early-stage nonprofits. From researching funding opportunities to managing your board, these resources support you at every step of your journey. When getting a nonprofit up and running, it can be difficult to know what questions to ask and where to get answers. That’s why we created this page—to surface information that nonprofit founders need to know.
