Director of Grantmaking and Impact, Coastal Community Foundation of South Caroilna
Samuel Bellamy is a grantmaker, strategist, and emerging voice in philanthropic practice. As Director of Grantmaking and Impact at Coastal Community Foundation, one of South Carolina’s leading philanthropic institutions, he helps direct resources and shape strategy around a question that drives everything he does: not just who gets funded, but what kind of communities are we actually building? He brings more than a decade of nonprofit experience to that work, including five years embedded in philanthropy at the table where resources get allocated, and communities get either invested in or overlooked. That proximity to power and process is not background noise. It is the source of his thinking.
Samuel is a Hulls Fellow and serves on the SC Grantmakers planning team, contributing to professional development and peer learning across the philanthropic sector. These roles reflect a consistent commitment not just to doing the work of grantmaking, but to strengthening the field itself, from the inside out.
He holds an MPA with a nonprofit management focus from Liberty University and a BA from Southern New Hampshire University. Samuel lives in South Carolina with his wife La Tasha and their three children.
