Samantha Mercado

Samantha Mercado formerly was the content editor of Philanthropy News Digest. In this role, she authored and helped edit daily news coverage about the philanthropic sector and the communities it interacts with.

Samantha previously served as a local news reporter for broadcast and digital outlets in towns across the East Coast, including Boston and Jersey City. Her coverage throughout her career includes coronavirus’ effect on local communities, disaster philanthropy and its response to increasing wildfires, and Gen Z’s place in philanthropy. Samantha has a BA in journalism from Stony Brook University. In her free time, Samantha enjoys tending to her patio garden and feeding her pet bunny fresh veggies.
