She began her career in tech product development and marketing before she transitioned to the nonprofit sector where she has held leadership roles in communications at the Asian Art Museum and Edgewood Center for Children and Families.

Her most recent position prior to joining Foundation Center (now Candid) was serving as vice president of communications and development for World Affairs Council/Global Philanthropy Forum from 2011-2015. Michele served as director of Foundation Center’s western region from 2015-2019, continued in this role when Foundation Center and GuideStar combined to form Candid in 2019, and assumed the role of senior director of partnerships at Candid beginning in 2020.

Michele holds a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication Studies from the University of Virginia. Among her many volunteer activities, Michele serves on the board of trustees for Horizons at San Francisco Friends School.
