Lewis Flax specializes in assisting nonprofit organizations generate corporate support. He has provided guidance related to fundraising efforts with a specific focus on developing corporate support through increasing sponsorship funding, establishing partnerships, and implementing board development initiatives. His firm, Flax Associates (established in 2008) offers guidance to national and local nonprofit organizations. A frequent trainer and speaker, he has led board retreats, board and staff trainings, and presented on behalf of many organizations catering to the nonprofit community. He has led sessions for organizations including ASAE, BoardSource, Bridge Conference, Center for Nonprofit Advancement, The Foundation Center, Points of Light Institute, and the United Way. Lewis fully understands the challenges nonprofits face, both from an outside consultant’s point of view and from the internal perspective of a nonprofit executive. Previously, Lewis served as a Vice President for IEG, a leading consulting firm. Prior experience also includes heading up development efforts at Financial Executives International (FEI). Additionally, Lewis is a certified instructor for Dale Carnegie Training, a Master Trainer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), serves on the instructional team for the NSA (National Speakers Association) DC Speaker Academy, and is on the selection committee for the Board Leadership Award at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.
