Kate Kiama

Kate leads She’s the First’s global programs and partnerships. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Kate is a trained lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and has completed the Advocates Training Program at the Kenya School of Law. She is passionate about leveraging the law to address social injustices that affect women and adolescent girls.

She has previously served as a Grant Manager at the Nike Foundation supporting the Girl Effect Movement, and as Program Director at Akili Dada. Kate also currently serves on the Boards of Make Every Woman Count and Kuza Dada. She has been recognized for her leadership and impact: in 2023, the African Union named her among the 25 most impactful African women leaders, and she was earlier recognized by Business Daily as one of Kenya’s Top 40 Under 40 Women.
