Jessica Mecellem, Ph.D.

Jessica is Research and Narrative Strategist at The Wakeman Agency. She draws on over a decade of narrative research and writing for social change causes in nonprofit and corporate contexts, international relations, and academia. Her work shapes messaging and deploys research and tactical narrative guidance on a range of topics, such as building resilience and adaptation to climate change, elimination of neglected tropical diseases, U.S. education equity, gender-based violence and homelessness, as well as foreign and global affairs. Trained as a political scientist, Jessica’s approach is informed by a range of methods and practical experience in the United States, Europe, South West Asia, and North Africa. Her published work and ongoing writing are focused on analyzing macro and micro-level narratives for social sector causes.
