Dave uses machine learning and AI to derive knowledge from social sector data, and provide actionable insights to nonprofits and fundraisers. He got his start in the sector working at Foundation Center, one of Candid’s legacy organizations, and is now responsible for Candid’s initiatives in real time data and personalized user experiences.
Dave’s background is in physics and mathematics, he earned undergraduate degrees in both from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in physics from Penn State University. He formerly worked at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland where he collaborated on the ATLAS experiment as part of the Large Hadron Collider.
Dave enjoys communicating the work of Candid’s Data Science team to a broader audience and building trust and transparency around Candid’s AI tools. Outside of work he enjoys making music, both with friends and on his own.
