Anna Koob

Anna Koob is senior research lead at Candid, where she leads a team that analyzes data on the scale and scope of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Her path there included work as a volunteer coordinator at Wisconsin Public Television, a fundraiser for a small labor rights organization in Chicago, and a researcher at the University of Texas, where she studied the link between climate change and political stability and conducted field research in Ethiopia and Senegal.

Since joining the organization as a research analyst, Anna has managed projects such as the Advancing Human Rights project with the Human Rights Funders Network, a guide on participatory grantmaking, and Candid’s report on U.S. nonprofit demographics. More recently, she’s built dashboards that combine Candid’s data to give a fuller, public picture of the nonprofit sector.

She holds a master’s degree in Global Policy Studies from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
