      Tell your story

Candid recently partnered with CHANGE Philanthropy and Equity in the Center to improve how we collect demographics through our GuideStar Nonprofit Profiles. We’ve added the ability to share leadership information, updated the language we use throughout, swapped diversity strategies for equity strategies, and made the interface easier to use.

The act of sharing demographic data:

      • Often causes staff to reflect on their respective organizations’ equity journeys
      • Helps us learn more about where we are collectively as a sector in this journey
      • Gives a more complete organizational picture to funders

Share your organization’s demographic data by logging into or claiming your organization’s profile. And don’t forget the step-by-step guide for completing the demographics section.

      About

Candid gets you the information you need to do good. That’s why we created this pop-up webpage to share the philanthropic response to the murder of George Floyd and the events following it. Knowing where money is going and how, and having the latest information from organizations, facilitates thoughtful collaboration and decision making.

The page updates automatically several times a day as data and news are added to our database. The data is derived from funders who directly share their funding data with us, news articles, and other sources. We code the data according to our taxonomy. The news section pulls from 300,000 source articles that our news bot regularly scans for relevant information.

Note: Candid neither endorses nor disagrees with the information on this page. Our goals are to provide as complete a picture as possible, as objectively as possible, of philanthropy’s activities in the area of racial equity; to enable decision making based on facts; and to promote general understanding of the issue.
