Jim is using his many years of experience in building, supporting, and directing technology organizations in his role at Candid. He is involved in both strategic and tactical projects helping to build Candid’s and new administrative systems infrastructure and overseeing the Technology Department’s financial planning, budgeting, and tracking.
Jim has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of telecommunications, technical systems management, applications development, strategic planning, risk management, and finances.
From 1979 to 1996 Jim served as the Southeast Regional Vice President of Operations for Systems and Computer Technology in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities included multi‑site, multiyear P&L, sales support, and technical service delivery for SCT’s higher education and state/local government clients in an 11-state area and the Caribbean.
From 1996 to 2004 Jim served as the Chief Information Officer for McGuire Woods LLP, an international law firm based in Richmond, Virginia. Jim was responsible for the strategic direction and tactical delivery of all information technology at the Firm and its 15 office locations - 13 domestic and 2 foreign. Also included the responsibility for all-domestic office operations, space planning, and construction for all offices worldwide.
From 2004 to 2005 Jim served as the Vice President of Technical Operations for DS3 Data Vaulting, a start-up company in Fairfax Virginia, specializing in off-site, on-line network backup. Jim was responsible for developing and executing a storage strategy that scaled with the company’s business plan.
Jim holds a B.S. in Computer Science & Management Science and an M.B.A from Kent State University.
