Gabe is responsible for helping more users do good by connecting them with Candid information. He leads organization-wide marketing, tasked with growing Candid’s brand awareness, tracking analytics, and keeping an eye on competitors. He played a key role in the creation and launch of Candid, publicly bringing together Foundation Center and GuideStar into its new brand.
Gabe brings a diverse and creative background to his work, graduating with a degree in architecture from Virginia Tech. He spent the first part of his career designing dozens of buildings, including many that went on to win design awards, as well as leading marketing and communications for a nationally known architectural firm.
In 2014, he transitioned to the social sector, leading outreach and communications for GuideStar. This role included engaging with the media, partners, and nonprofits. During his time at GuideStar he relaunched GuideStar Nonprofit Profiles, connecting more than 100,000 new nonprofits with this program. In 2016 he began to oversee all marketing and communications functions at GuideStar. For the next three years, he led a team responsible for telling GuideStar’s story, advancing its vision, sustaining awareness of its mission, increasing adoption of its products and programs, and widening its visibility with key stakeholder audiences.
Core to his success throughout his career has been his ability to bring entities together, leading partnerships with dozens of organizations including Facebook, Google, Fidelity Charitable, Salesforce.org, CrowdRise, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
