John oversees the service delivery functions of a multi-faceted social services nonprofit that serves nearly 30,000 people each year in the greater Philadelphia region. Operating with an annual budget of nearly $100 million, JEVS Human Services has 1,000 employees working in two dozen successful programs providing skills development, job readiness and career services, vocational rehabilitation, recovery services, adult and residential day services, and in-home personal assistance. He is a three-term Candid trustee, having joined the Foundation Center board in 2011.
John has worked in the social sector for more than 30 years, with backgrounds in philanthropy, community and economic development, and workforce development and employment policy and advocacy. He has played leadership roles in organizing philanthropic networks focused on workforce development, community colleges, and mission investing.
A graduate of Oberlin College, John holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on a variety of boards and advisory panels and was elected vice chair of the Board of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA). He holds numerous volunteer positions with other national organizations.
